Long John Laundry has been in the making for some years with several line up changes before the recording of WILD EVIL. The bands roots stem from various paths which have all seemed to, by chance, met at a cross roads.

Long John himself has for the past 5 years has been whipping up song and dance in the London alternative punk blues music scene with some 300 gigs under his belt as part of the Silver Brazilians (South London Punk Blues Rockers).

With not just their own sell out shows the band have also supported acts such as Wilko Johnson, The Charlatans, The Jim Jones Revue and The Block Heads along with stints in the USA, Germany and Sweden at various festivals and tour venues with The Zills. Taking some well earned time out to work on Solo projects the Long John Laundry Band was born firstly as a Slide Blues jamming machine with Long John on Guitar, Jules Haffegee on bass and Vince Street on drums – all former Brazilian band members..

Things started to hot up in the rehearsals studios in deepest east London and soon Long John put pen to paper  (I decided to put down the album I had been waiting to write for some time its primarily about my time living back in L.A. – the people, the good times… I just let it all roll out.)

As the band hit the studio the departure of Vince Street saw the arrival of Matt Banham on drums and additionally the arrival of the multi talented Nick Mailing on Piano and Lead guitar… Things soon became obvious that this band had a feel and vibe that gave everyone a chance to get involved and put their name on the bands sound joining the band with Tenor Saxophone Mr. Jools Lawrence and Genna Marabase on Alto Sax the album was 9 months in the making and was Produced by Nick Mailing with over the shoulder input from Long John Laundry.

Watch out the world here comes Long John…
